Tragic Death of Taekwondo Player Luis Gerardo

A Mexican taekwondo practitioner was found dead after being reported missing by his family, who had issued a search bulletin in Mexico City. According to information from N+, the athlete disappeared after attending a party in the Morelos neighborhood last Saturday, March 29, in the company of a friend. Since then, his family lost contact with him, which activated his search. Days later, his body was located lifeless at the intersection of Libertad and Peralvillo, in the same neighborhood.

The taekwondo practitioner was identified by his family as Luis Gerardo Hernández Rojas, 32 years old, who trained at the Mexican Moo Duk Kwan Association and was a student at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). Luis Gerardo began practicing taekwondo at the age of 15 and, throughout his career, achieved Second Dan, an advanced rank that represents the second level within black belts. Although he did not enter professional sports, he was recognized for his technique, discipline, and skills within the amateur realm, standing out in local competitions and among his peers for his passion for martial arts.

The death of the Mexican taekwondo practitioner Luis Gerardo Hernández Rojas has generated dismay, and new lines of investigation suggest it could be a case of express kidnapping. Preliminary reports indicate that the young man might have been deprived of his freedom for several days after attending a party in the Morelos neighborhood of Mexico City. However, so far, the authorities have not officially confirmed this hypothesis, and the case remains under investigation.
